We moved to Stacy , Minnesota in the fall of 1993. Our dreams were small at first. The idea was to have a place where we could actually train our dogs to herd. We keep a small flock of St. Croix sheep, a few heifers and some ducks to train the dogs.
Our name, Rising Sun Farm, comes from the Sunrise pool that is part of the Sunrise River and Carlos Avery Wildlife Refuge that borders our farm to the west.
The Australian Shepherds and Border Collies make our farm complete. We continue to work toward advancing both breeds as well as the St. Croix sheep. We have recently researched and added the "Bengal Cat" to our farm. This "Unique" breed of domestic cat is the "Border Collie" of Cats.
